Beaches in Kerala

Kerala has numerous beaches as it has a long 580 Km coastline. The beaches in Kerala are characterized by long stretches of golden sand, clear skies, and rows upon rows of swaying palm trees. Almost in every coastline district of Kerala you can find at least one beach. The Kovalam beach is the most famous among them. Kerala even has a drive in beach in Kannur.

The Beach is located at a distance of 8 Km from Thalassery and 16 Km from Kannur and runs parallel to National Highway 66 (formerly National Highway 17) and is the longest Drive-In Beach in India. The long beach curves in a wide area providing a good view of Kannur on the north.

Chootad Beach is a very attractive beach facing the Ezhimala hills and became famous recently. The beach is very clean and gives a very good view of the Ezhimala hills. Chootad is a beautiful landscape situated near to the foothill of the famous Ezhimala hills, surrounded by very closely planted Casuarina trees, a river and coconut trees.
