Kerala, the land of Lakes and Backwaters is also blessed with numerous waterfalls. The Athirapally Waterfalls known as The Niagara of India is the tallest and most famous among them.

The Vazhachal waterfall is just 5 km away from the Athirapally Water Falls is close the dense green forest and is home to many endangered and endemic species of flora and fauna. This is the only place in the Western Ghats where four endangered Hornbill species are seen. Vazhachal is about 68 km away from Thrissur.
Haritheerthakara waterfalls also known as Ariyil waterfalls or Chooral waterfalls is a small waterfall near Payyanur in the Kannur District of Kerala. This is a virgin waterfall untouched by modern society.
